It's that time of the week again, where I show off my beautiful clients! This weeks Midweek Makeover post features none other than my fellow blogger and friend Numera of Hommes De Femmes!

Numera is naturally gorgeous and barely wears any makeup whenever we meet up as she clearly doesn't need it! Again, for someone who doesn't wear much makeup, she didn't want to go OTT with her makeup, but of course to have enough to make it bridal.

The first day was her traditional red outfit day and the second day featured a toned down beige with hints of bright/electric blue.

Day 1
Red outfit with light gold thread and beadwork and a blue border; eye makeup complimented the outfit's gold and red theme and of course red lips however we skipped the blue bottom liner as she didn't want too much colour:

Day 2
Beige-gold with pop of electric blue and antique gold detailing; we went for a smokey antique gold look with a pop of electric blue on the waterline which I LOVED! For the lips we decided to go for a pink-nude on the lips to contrast the first day's look:

Of course it was a total pleasure to do Numera's makeup on both days, she looked stunning on both days! 
My favourite look had to be Day 2's look with the antique gold smokey eyes and electric blue liner as I adore looks with bright colours! Day 1's look did have more contouring and looked lovely with the gold and red but I would have added the blue bottom liner too if I could ;)

Midweek Makeovers

This weeks Midweek Makeover post features one of my friends who got married this year in August and had a traditional Indian Hindu wedding.

The day was full on, starting from around 8am and she had her reception in the evening around 8pm which went on for longer.. who said weddings weren't tiring?!

Anyway, my friend (Bride V) has never been a fan of too much makeup and doesn't like to wear foundation, the most she would normally wear is a mineral foundation (not that she needs more!) so I had to make her feel like she wasn't wearing a ton of makeup and make it still look like her.
 
For her morning/day look she wore the traditional red outfit which was broken up with cream and hints of green.
I opted for a neutral gold look with a hint of red on the eyelid and a dark brown/black in the crease, with a pop of green on the lower lashline.

Her reception was in the evening and we altered the look to match her second outfit which was a fuchsia pink with coral and of course some gold:

I didn't get to take as many pictures for the reception as it was a bit rushed from a slight delay and having to start from scratch with both the hair and makeup but I loved both looks and think she looked stunning the whole day. If I had to choose, my favourite look from the two had to be the traditional Indian red look as the red lipstick suited her so nicely!

Midweek Makovers

I've realised that I have a backlog of clients makeover pictures that I have yet to upload and I'll be starting to upload them hopefully every Wednesday so I can keep up to date!

This weeks Midweek Makeover features one of my recent brides - Bride A - who had two wedding days - the traditional wedding day (red outfit) and the Walima or second day of the wedding wear the bride wears a different colour of her or the grooms choice.

Day 1

Pink and purple outfit, again with gold detailing, but more of an antique gold this time. We tried a more cotton candy pink on the lips first but decided on a brighter pink in the end:

Bride A was a total pleasure to do! I loved doing both days' makeup but my favourite if I had to choose would probably be the second day's look.. I'm a girly girl and my favourite colours have always been pink and purple!

Midweek Makeovers

Hello my lovelies!

As you know I've been fairly busy with clients the last couple weeks in the run up to Ramadan (everyone rushes to get married before or after Ramadan!), so I thought I'd do a post showing some of the makeup of clients I actually managed to capture.

I also had a few brides and managed to get a picture of two bride's makeup; one wanted a simple look for her day and the second wanted a classic asian bridal look:

I also had a few prom bookings in June; proms are getting much bigger as time goes on (my school didn't even have one!) but I loved doing these 16 year olds' makeup.. they're surprisingly mature and it was fun introducing them to makeup that some had never tried before!

FFF: Copper-Green Cut Crease makeup look - collaboration!

This weeks FFF is a special one as it's also a collaboration with another MUA blogger - Sanna of Look A Million.

I discovered Sanna on Instagram and loved her creativity and flair! There's a ton of makeup artists on Instagram and online in general, but only a handful actually wow me and Sanna has to be one of them. 
"I am a self-taught freelance makeup artist, blogger, student and upcoming YouTuber based in West Yorkshire. Makeup is my passion and I have been practising from a very young age! I love to create a range of different looks from simple, elegant, dramatic and theatre. I love the creative side of makeup as makeup lets you be whoever you want and can change your appearance drastically (which is the fun bit). I love to explore different genres and themes. 
My favourite all time makeup brand has to be Illamasqua- their products are so pigmented which means I use less of it! I also love Sleek makeup. I look forward to making tutorials on YouTube and sharing how I achieve my looks." 

Seeing as I've never done this before, it's probably best to mention what exactly is involved. We decided on a Copper/Bronze and Green theme (with glitter) and challenged eachother to make a look with this theme. I was excited to find out what Sanna would use where, or if we'd end up with something similar, which we did in the end - great minds eh?
Here's the look I created with a full list of what was used:

Eyes: 
> UDPP

> UD Smoked Palette - Kinky, Freestyle, Backdoor, Blackout, Loaded

> MAC Copper Sparkle pigment

> UD Perversion, Covet & Flipside 24/7 eye pencils

> NYC black liquid liner

> Daniel Sandler Jumbo Jet mascara 

> UD 24/7 concealer - ATF

> Khuraira ACC in Light   

Face: 

> Hourglass Veil Fluid - 4 Beige (sample)

> Ben Nye Banana powder

> Sleek Contour Kit - Medium (matte contour only)

> UD Flushed palette - highlighter only

Lips:

> MAC Mocha lipstick (Surf Baby collection)

After priming the eye as usual with UDPP, I used an angled liner brush to mark out the cut crease with UD Blackout eyeshadow. I then used a tapered blending brush to lightly add Blackout above the crease and blended upwards. I did the same with Backdoor, to intensify the smokiness. Kinky was then applied to the browbone, followed by Freestyle in between it and Blackout/Backdoor. I made sure to blend well and go back with either Blackout or Freestyle as needed above the crease.

I then used Loaded eyeshadow on the bottom lash line, followed by Covet & Flipside eye pencils on top, blended with a small angled brush into a point on the inner corner, and a split liner look on the outer corner. I then lined the eye with Perversion eye pencil and used NYC black liquid liner to finish lining the top eyelid, also creating a point on the inner corner. I filled in the gap between the outer corner lines with UD 24/7 concealer in ATF.

After concealing under the eye with Khuraira ACC, I coated the lashes with Daniel Sandler Jumbo Jet Mascara and filled in the brows with Backdoor and Blackout eyeshadows from the same Smoked palette.

For the rest of the face, I used a sample of the Hourglass Veil Fluid Makeup in 4- Beige all over the face and used Ben Nye Banana powder under the eyes and on areas needed. I then contoured with the Sleek Medium Contour Kit and highlighted from the UD Flushed palette.

On the lips I used MAC Mocha lipstick, mixed with a tiny bit of UD 24/7 concealer in ATF.

I loved her use of green above the crease and pairing it with a nude lip, which looks awesome!

Recent shoots - portfolio update

Hello my lovely followers!

As you may have noticed I've been a bit slack in the blogging department and if you follow me on Instagram you'll know why; I've been busy with a bunch of photoshoots and clients as well as working the odd day here and there in retail.. so it left me barely any time to blog but whilst I've got a bit of time I thought I'd post some pictures from the shoots I've been doing for my portfolio.

I've wanted to expand my portfolio for a while now and do more "natural" and fashion type shoots as I haven't done many, especially ones that have left me happy enough to use anyway. The shoots I've done lately however, have been with amazing photographers and models so it's really helped the cause!

Shoot 1: Winter shoot with Harper & Eye
This shoot involved two models (Laura and Alicia) who happened to have similar coloured red hair (unplanned). It worked out well as we could take some "twin/sister" like shots with fur coats and other wintery pieces supplied by vintage clothing collector Demelza of Harper & Eye. Photographer: Femi.

Shoot 2: London shoot with Canadian photographer
This shoot involved a Canadian photographer Darren who was down in London, stylish Pash and highly experienced model Kasia; Pash used high fashion and vintage labels, styled for street fashion photography. Locations included Regent Street, Trafalgar Square, Camden Lock and Carnaby Street.

Shoot 3: Portfolio shoot for model Nicole
This was a very quick fashion/H&M type shoot to update model Nicole's portfolio and involved shooting around the business end of London; Monument and Bank. The makeup was as natural as possible, which is great for my portfolio too as most of the makeup is dramatic/colourful.
The photographer Dan was very efficient and managed to get some great closeup shots that looked like they had been shot in a studio; impressive!

I do have another two more shoots' pictures to come, so I'll be posting them as soon as poss!

I have to say I've enjoyed doing these fashion shoots and plan to do some more as they're a lot more easier than my regular makeup jobs (i.e. Asian clients for weddings!); it involves more natural/less "structured" makeup and I love that anything goes.
Having said that, there's something about "structured" and "pretty" makeup that makes me love the transformations I do on a regular basis, so I won't be giving that up ever I don't think!

I hope to get some of the looks I've done on some brides and bridesmaids lately very soon on the blog, so keep an eye out for those.
