If you follow me on Instagram you've probably seen me swatch a couple recent MAC lippy purchases.

I've come to realise that I have a thing for coral lippies as I seem to have more of a selection of these shades than any other colour!

MAC Crosswires - Regular lipstick (no collection)

Colour & Pigmentation: My favourite lipstick of all recent purchases! It is a very wearable coral-pink with reddish tones to it and I've been carrying this around as my go-to lipstick. Pigmentation-wise I find it gives just the right amount of colour- not too much, not too little! (You can view it in this makeup look).
Texture: Being a cremesheen lipstick it's semi-sheer and has a great moisturising texture with a slight shine.
Longevity: This lipstick doesn't last as long as a matte lippy, however I tend to blot and apply again to make it last longer and it certainly does stain the lips after this.
Scent: As with all MAC lippies, this one smells lovely and vanilla-y (no taste/flavour).
Price: At £13.50 it's a bit more expensive than your regular drugstore lipstick, but MAC do offer a great range of lippies with different finishes and colours to suit anyone. Plus if like me you're addicted to the scent, it's a no brainer.

FrootiFactor: I love this lippy so much, I give it a 5!

MAC Sail La Vie - Hey, Sailor! collection

Colour & Pigmentation: An orange-red veering more towards the orange side. Compared to Illamasqua Liable it looks orange. Compared to MAC Morange it looks red-orange! Pigmentation-wise it's highly pigmented.
Texture: Sail La Vie is a Satin finish lipstick so is very creamy but I do find them slightly dry so always wear lipbalm or Vaseline underneath
Longevity: Satin finishes do last long, Sail La Vie lasted a good 3-4 hours.
Scent: Vanilla scented.
Price: £14 (50p more than the usual MAC lipsticks).


FrootiFactor: I quite like this lippy, especially for Summer so I give it a 4.5:

MAC Watch Me Simmer - Reel Sexy collection

Colour & Pigmentation: A coral-pink leaning more coral than Viva Glam Nicki that's more of a salmon pink coral; It does look very similar to Toxic Tale from the MAC Venomous Villains collection, but Watch Me Simmer is Amplified finish whereas Toxic Tale is Satin finish and I find it drier in texture (see swatches below). Pigmentation-wise, it's highly pigmented and opaque.
Texture: Watch Me Simmer has an Amplified finish, meaning it has a creamy consistency but with slight shine. As with Satin finishes, I find myself having to wear lipbalm underneath.
Longevity: Amplified lipsticks usually last fairly long; I find this shade to last around 3-5 hours.
Scent: Vanilla scented.
Price: Although part of a collection, the price remains at £13.50; I'm guessing because the packaging is the same as normal MAC lippies.

FrootiFactor: I do like this lippy more than my Toxic Tale as it's less dry, so I give it a 4:

MAC news & my Good Girl lips FOTD

First of all I want to share something I found last week on a trip to Covent Garden MAC...

The magically cool liquid powder! I tried Cajun, but it seemed too dark.. so I bought Truth & Light, it has golden & pinky shimmer. It feels cool on the skin, and when I tried it with a brush on my face, it honestly feels like I've wet the brush, such a weird feeling! In case you don't already know, this is because it's made out of 70% water as the kind MAC assistant told me. He also mentioned that there's gonna be another collection next Spring (2011).. 
Wonderwoman! I got sooo excited when he told me that, can't wait to jump on that bandwagon!

Anyway, as promised, here's a look (very simple btw!!) only to show the Sleek Good Girl palette on the lips & the MAC liquid powder. I used Pink Punch & Carmex for the lips and blended as well as I could. For the face I used MAC magically cool liquid powder in "Truth & Light" and Illamasqua "hussy" blush. I used UD "Crash" liquid liner for the top lid and "Lust" 24/7 eyeliner on the lower lashline, with a Victoria's secret blue mascara I picked up at Heathrow in April. It's not that great, so I don't really need to blog about it, aside from the fact that it's Victoria's Secret (which we can't get in the UK!)


Here's the lips then! You can just about see the Truth & Light shimmer.

MAC Venomous Villains look

Here's a look I did with the "she who dares" eyeshadow & "toxic tale" lipstick... I know they don't really match but I figured I'd do a makeup look with my collection (barring the cruella lipglass seeing as I don't intend on keeping it!), so here's a very simple look.

Products used:

> UD PP (keep forgetting to add to the picture!)

> MAC VV "she who dares" eyeshadow
> UD "zero" eyeliner
> Maybelline black line definer

> Dior Show black mascara
> MAC select moisturecover NC35 (forgot aswell!)
> Illamasqua "hussy" powder blush
> MAC VV "toxic tale" lipstick
> Lipcote (lipstick sealer)

I put the green part of She Who Dares all over the eyelid & bottom lashline, with the MO shading brush. I then added some of the blue part to the end of the eyelid, forming a wing with the MO blending brush, and blending some of the blue into the crease. I then lined the top lid with Maybelline eye definer and the bottom waterline with UD Zero eyeliner. After applying under-eye concealer, I added two coats of Dior Show to the lashes, top & bottom.

For the rest of the face I used Illamasqua "hussy" blush on the apples of the cheeks and I was going to do red lips to finish the wicked witch/halloween green eyes look, but as I said before, I thought I'd use my VV lipstick. I then sealed the lipstick to finish the look!

VV FOTD

I'm putting a quick FOTD up seeing as I'm loving the new lipstick I have from the Venomous Villains (VV) collection.

I didn't bother with eyeshadow today as the focus was on the lipstick, so here's what I used:

> UD eyeliners "zero" and "lust"

> Dior Iconic mascara

> MAC moisturecover NC35

> Illamasqua "hussy" blusher

and here's how it looked:

 

I blotted the lips as it started looking a bit neon/fluorescent, hence why the colour isn't so obvious, but I prefer it that way! Here's a close up of the lips..

I don't usually like taking close ups of my lips cos they're so huge but on this occasion I'll allow it =)

*BREAKING NEWS!!!*

Although I have two makeup looks to blog about, more important news has pushed its way forward...

My MAC order has just arrived in the post, I was excited as soon as I knew it was the delivery man... I think I even let out a small squeal after I signed for it (I don't think he heard me).

Anyway, my hubby thinks I'm nuts cos I've bought a lot of makeup recently.. but this is something I just haddd to have (despite being broke so early on in the month!)

So here's my order:

> Cruella "wicked ways" lipglass

> Evil Queen "toxic tale" lipstick (<3)!!

> Maleficent "she who dares" eyeshadow

> Dr Facilier "i'm so vain" mirror

I just added the mirror as I was close to free delivery and thought: why the heck not, I can always sell it later if I don't have use for it!

I've never tried any MAC lipglosses before, so I found the Cruella "wicked ways" lipglass way too sticky for my liking unfortunately, although I am loving the colour.. But stickiness is a big no-no for me, so I might just sell it or give it away seeing as I don't see myself wearing it =(

I do however love the Evil Queen's "toxic tale", it's probably something to do with my recent infatuation with coral. I've just tried it on my lips and it does look kind of fluorescent, but that's if I put a lot on. A little blended down and it looks pinky-coral.. still a beautiful colour! It's quite matte, but not drying so I'm happy with this =)

The Maleficent "she who dares" mineralize eyeshadow duo reminds me of the new UD "black" palette or Too Faced baked eyeshadows; a black matte shadow under a glittery colour, which in this case, is a midnight blue and potion green! I love it, it will defo come in handy for a smokey look =)

As I said above, the Dr Facilier mirror is just an added bonus, either to give away or sell, I'm undecided at the mo!

I'm happy I finally got some of the Venomous Villains collection though, it's been too long I've been waiting and now my appetite has been satiated (until the next shiny new product comes out)!

P.S. I have two looks coming up, both from the Manly 120 Palette and I'm not sure which to blog about first! One is a bright green look, the other is a brown/neutral look.. which should I do first??

MAC gives you skin white as snow; lips red as blood...

After reading more and more about this MAC Disney Venomous Villains collection, I've been craving for it more and more! It's being released this September in the US and apparently in the UK in October. If this is the case, I'm anticipating major queues down at Selfridges and Westfield and any other stores in London.. which is a bummer for me, seeing as I'll probably be stuck in those queues!

I think MAC must've seen how popular the Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland palette hit off and decided to go that step further and bigger; go with Disney, and being MAC and quirky, they chose the villains! Defo well thought out I'd say, it's already a hit in the US and I anticipate it to be just as big here!

Can't wait to feed my Disney obsession, soon I will be the fairest of them alll! Or not :/
