These are the new lip glosses from Urban Decay that are more like lip balm consistency; non sticky with a hint of a tint and with the following ingredients, they're certainly conditioning for the lips!
> Apricot kernel seed oil, Millet seed oil, Jojoba - a "lip healing trifecta, to moisturise, replenish & promote cell turnover".

This lipgloss does taste nice, not as sweet as the Lip Junkies but still sweet. My only qualm is the honey smell.. it's quite offputting for me and when smelled by the hubby (who absolutely detests honey of all forms!), it made me rethink whether I'd be using it that frequently. It smells like the lickable body powder in Honey that was released last year and it coincidentally also wasn't my favourite.

A lot of people do know and like(?) the smell of honey, so if you're a fan of the smell then I guess you'd also like the fact that it's non sticky.

Looks-wise it reminds me of Lancome's Juicy Tubes, but the texture is far from sticky; it's very very smooth, but not greasy. The tip is soft, moulded TPE which makes it easy to apply.. directly or on the finger =)

They only give the slightest hint of colour as stated on the packaging, but for pigmented lips like mine, it only really comes out clear! Unless I wear it on top of a lipstick/stain/tint, the colour doesn't show up.

The release date of these lipglosses are 15th June, but are already on a few counters.. will you be getting any? And if so, which colours?

Urban Decay 15 Year Anniversary Quinceañera Bag

In honour of Urban Decay's 15 year anniversary, here’s a LE makeup bag they named after the 15th birthday extravaganzas thrown for girls in Latin American cultures - Quinceañera.

The sales blurb:

This makeup bag retails for £16, which is perfect for those UD junkies (like myself) who need a bag to hold a lot of makeup, but can't afford to spend more than this which is generally the case around Christmas time.

I like the purple glitteriness of the bag, but I do fear it'd be a little too childish for older ladies to rock?? And the vinyl smell reminds me of plastic toys! It was hard to photograph the actual purple of the bag as my camera made it look more lilac/purple blue rather than it's actual pink-purple colour, but this zooming in caught the colour nicely:

It definitely does hold a lot of makeup so it's not small enough to fit in your handbag, but is a perfect size to hold all your essentials for a holiday (which is what I intend to do when I'm off in a couple of weeks!)

The interior pocket isn't large enough to fit the UD Bronzer, but I'd use it to hold brushes anyway, which it can do easily =)

The good thing about the design is that it unzips all the way around as opposed to just at the top, which allows you to reach deep inside, but without spilling makeup (due to the satin inserts/gussets). 

The 15 year anniversary pattern lines the inside of the bag, all easily wipe-clean vinyl too. My personal favourite is the embossed UD logos on the zips (and Lip Love lids too!)

The bags should be on counter from 15th May, so if you need a makeup bag suitable for going on holiday this year, or just to hold a lot of items, check it out!

Requested Makeup look

One of my friends recently requested that I put together a look for an outfit she was wearing for an occasion, so of course I happily stepped up to the task!
She sent me a pic of her clothes to match:

 

It's blue & pink-purple with light gold bead/threadwork, so I chose to use the UD Deluxe Palette that I knew she had as well as Sin eyeshadow from the Naked palette (which is in her Ammo palette).

Products used:

> UD Deluxe Palette - Fishnet, Peace, Zero, Shag & Naked Palette for Sin e/s
> UD Ink for Eyes & 24/7 eyeliner in Zero
> Too Faced LashLight mascara
> Sleek blush in Pomegranate
> UD "Wicked" lipliner
> Vaseline

After priming the eyes with UDPP, I used Sin for the inner corners of the eyes as its a nice champagne-gold colour that would suit the bead/threadwork. I also used it on the browbone as a highlight. For the middle to the end of the eyelid I used UD Fishnet, with a little bit of Zero eyeshadow on the outer corner. I then used UD Shag for the crease as I've tried putting colours on her crease before but it didn't quite suit her! So I chose Shag as its a neutral colour for her crease, but with a bit of shimmer and it would suit her brown/bronze beadwork.
I used UD Peace eyeshadow with a fine wet brush, to go on the lower lashline and tie in with the blue of the dress. To finish, I used the 24/7 eyeliner to line the top and bottom waterlines, then Ink for Eyes for the top liner, followed by the LashLight mascara.

 

For the rest of the face I used Sleek's Pomegranate blush and UD lipliner in Wicked- a nice pink-purple shade. I used the liner all over the lips, and popped some Vaseline on top. I didn't want to put too bright a shade on the lips, to avoid looking like a clown, plus I think Wicked goes really well with Fishnet on the eyes!

 

What do you think of the look? It's the best I could come up with, knowing what palettes she had, otherwise I would've used my Manly palette for exact matches!
My friend was happy with the look I came up for her anyway, hope you like it too, if you have any outfits with similar colouring!
