FF: Ariana Grande No Tears Left To Cry makeup look

Friday, 27 April 2018

I'm back with another makeup look taken from my instagram, but worthy of writing up on the blog due to it being hugely popular on my IG!

This look is a recreation of Ariana Grande's makeup in her latest video after she's been in hiding for months.
There's a few looks in her No Tears Left To Cry video including a smoked out extended wing eyeliner look, but I chose to recreate the glitter underliner look with matte lips and the full on glitzy eyes and lips look.
It was created by none other than Mario Dedivanovic (Makeup By Mario) and when I saw the full on sparkly look I was obsessed and knew I had to try and recreate it.

Read on to see the products used in these too looks!

Fireworks FOTD look

Wednesday, 10 November 2010

I know bonfire night is over, but I decided to upload a quick "fireworks" look (as Mr frootibeauty called it). I wore it on Sunday to the local fireworks display. It's nothing special, just a bit of eyeliner & glitter with red lipstick and blush.

I wore UD 24/7 eyeliner in Zero, with UD Heavy Metal glitter eyeliner in Distortion, all over the eyelid, finished with Dior Show mascara in black.

I uploaded the pic above as it accentuated the glitter.. the pics I took were in a rush so I didn't get to take proper pics and the glitter didn't show much on the ones I took =(

For the rest of the face, I used MAC concealer & MAC Truth & Light liquid powder, finishing with Illamasqua Hussy blush & a red lipstick I have from Boots' Natural Collection - Crimson.

Here's what it looked like..

I've noticed my skin looks paler when using the MAC Truth & Light, which is a shame, cos it actually has light golden glittery flecks that are really pretty!

Here's a (not so great) pic of the fireworks.. really doesn't do them any justice, they were loooooovely =)

Pink eyeshadow look

Wednesday, 15 September 2010

For this look I used pinks from Urban Decays two books of shadows - Vol II & Alice in Wonderland, and for the crease - Models Own (MO) "hot pink". The pink shadow "curiouser" from the Alice in Wonderland palette is actually in the original book of shadows also as "grifter" which is the actual name of the shadow (but renamed for the Alice in Wonderland limited edition).

Here's a full list of what was used (looks like a lot!!):

(click for close up)
> UD primer potion
> UD Vol II - "sphynx" eyeshadow
> UD Alice in Wonderland - "curiouser" (grifter) eyeshadow
> MO "hot pink" eyeshadow
> MO black kohl eyeliner
> Maybelline black line definer
> UD Heavy Metal glitter eyeliner in "catfight"
> Diorshow mascara
> UD Surreal Skin concealer in "hallucination"
> myface.cosmetics concealer in 213
> Clinique "sunset glow" blush
> UD Lip Envy in "envious"
> Sleek "pink cadillac" pout polish

After putting primer potion all over the eye, I applied UD sphynx to the eyelid with the MO shading eyeshadow brush, followed by UD grifter to the outer eyelid, from the crease and above, right til the eyebrow, blending outwards to make a winged effect where the eyebrow ends. You can use a plaster or tape from the outer eye corner to the end of the eyebrow to make a winged effect if it's too hard with a brush; it just has to be blended a little so the line is not so harsh.
Using the MO blending brush, I applied MO hot pink to the crease, blending out and in a little, making sure all colours are blended in well enough, with no obvious colour lines.

I added a bit of grifter to the bottom lash line, and put the glitter eyeliner "catfight" on top of the shadow (on the bottom eyelid). I used the MO kohl eyeliner this time to see if it was any better than the first time I used it, and it happened to work great, a thick black colour, which worked beautifully when warmed up on the skin. The top and bottom lid was lined, using the Maybelline line definer to fill in any gaps and for a stronger black line on the top lid.

The underside view of catfight
For a concealer, I decided to try mixing the two concealers I bought recently (UD hallucination & myface.cosmetics 213)... It looked ok, but as I said before, nothing comes close to the Clinique Line Smoothing concealer.. in fact these ones actually crease :(
As for the blusher, I used the Clinique sunset glow as usual on the apple of my cheeks (making the fish face for direction!), and used the UD lip stain "envious" under Sleek's pink cadillac pout polish.
The end product looked something like this:

Paris find(s)

Tuesday, 14 September 2010

UK's Urban Decay collection isn't as vast as America, so when I visited Paris, I couldn't help but visit Sephora to check if their collection is any better than ours. And it turns out they were.. but only slightly ;)
The NYC BOS hadn't quite reached them yet, although the woman tried to sell me the Naked palette!
So I came across their stand and although the Heavy Metal glitter eyeliner I was looking for wasn't on display, I spotted it behind the display and claimed it fast! We don't have "catfight" in the UK yet, so I was thrilled to find it.

As you can see it's a bright pink glitter.. not as versatile as Spandex, but not bad for a pink/purple look.
France also had the Lip Envy lip stain that's now discontinued in the stores I've been to in the UK, so of course I bought a spare ;)

Lip Envy in "envious" (with Sephora bag in the back) ;)

Think I may do a pink look next, look out for it!

Urban Decay NYC Book of Shadows make up look..

Monday, 6 September 2010

Ok so strictly speaking, it's not 100% the NYC BOS (book of shadows). I used my Alice in Wonderland Palette too - for "white rabbit" eyeshadow and the two 24/7 pencils - zero and flipside. I actually started off without the Urban Decay (UD) primer potion this time cos i wanted to see just how vibrant the colour was..and I didn't intend to blog about it!

Here's what I used:
> UD NYC: radium (blue) & haight (teal-blue) eyeshadows
> UD Alice in Wonderland: white rabbit eyeshadow (off-white with glitter sparkle) and
> 24/7 eyeliners: zero & flipside (teal)
> UD Heavy Metal glitter eyeliner in "spandex" (multicoloured/ rainbow-blue)
> Dior Extase mascara
> MAC NC35 concealer
> Clinique "sunset glow" blush
> Sleek "raspberry souffle" pout polish

eyeshadow colours up close
I started off by slapping on radium to the full eyelid with the MO shading brush, followed by haight to the socket, and out towards the eyebrow, stopping just before the brow, so that white rabbit could be blended down. I used the MO blending brush to do so, making sure the two colours blended as well as possible, adding more white rabbit if haight took over; I had enough dark radium on the eye, so I only wanted haight to show in the socket mainly. I then blended haight and radium, sweeping the colour outwards towards the tip of my eyebrow, making it a little winged, but not too much/dark.

I then used UD 24/7 flipside eyeliner on the lower eyelid, making it as thick as possible, so that the zero could be added on the inner waterline of the bottom eyelid too. Again, zero was used on the top eyelid, along with UD spandex glitter eyeliner - my favourite combo, even on their own! The glitter really looks great on top of the black eyeliner, and to finish off the eyes I used Dior Extase mascara.. two coats for extra dramatic lashes to stand out against the vibrant eyeshadow.

I used the same concealer, and also the same blusher and lipgloss cos again I thought it suited the look best - bright colours!

I loveddd the colours, and even without primer potion, the colours stood out, looking gorgeous, especially radium! I think it may be a new favourite :D
